Though the creativity of Lauren Wolfe, Founder of Kill Resort Fees may be genius in that she used a bad experience and the unanticipated charges she incurred to create a talking point to warn others about unfair charges associated with Hotel and Resort stays, her actions may be helping Airbnb crush the competition more than it is helping to admonish guest about unfair cost, as they plan their R&R getaways with family and friends.

The Lawyer Chic has fully expressed dissatisfaction with resort fees and suggest that guest do the following:

  • Refuse to pay 
  • Dispute the charge with their credit card company, after charges post to their account 
  • Sue in small claims court if cash is used for the transaction

    Wolfe’s suggestions go even further when she suggest that everyone take action by doing all of these 9 things:

  • Contact Congress 

  • File an FIC complaint 

  • Write a horrible Trip Advisor, Yelp, and Google review of your Hotel 

  • Contact The Attorney General or Take to Social Media 

  • Let State Legislators know 

  • Let your City Council know 

  • Contact your local newspaper and tv news stations 

  • Boycott

Lauren Wolfe’s advice is something that will interrupt the peace of mind associated with rest and relaxation you are seeking when traveling, so I suggest you take your chocolate covered key lime pie away from the hotel(s) with the soap and those little shampoos and conditioners, and don’t think about what The Britney Spears Residency has to offer. Relax and focus while you book with Airbnb. It just may be more adventurous than a stay at those high end Resorts. Oh and don’t forget to share your travel and trip experiences on Trip Advisor.
