Those of you who have been following Abornewords for a while probably know that televison was a big part of my early years. I didn't always take time to learn the Actors and Actresses names, but watching the characters act out their scenes was always fascinating to me.
Angelina Jolie is getting a lot of heat for cancelling some press appearances, saying she has a minor case of the Chicken pox. We still have a bit of the scoop on Unbroken, a movie she produced with three other guys. Oh and did I forget to mention, the lady with a mean pucker, also served as Director too. The film is one of triumph with many underlying victories for one World War II Officer who along with two other guys, survived a plane crash, only to end up in a Japanese Prison Camp. Because I respect what our Military Service men and women do everyday, I had to share this movie with you all. Although Karate and other Martial Arts Movies were a regular part of my viewing pleasure growing up, I can still get on board with the idea of any movie about perseverance in the face of adversity. Any person who is able to remain hopeful and exist, when the odds are mounted against them, should be celebrated. Being held in captivity may not sound pretty but that does not mean that good can't come from it or that a life can not be changed in the midst of what seems hopeless.
Angelina Jolie is steadily positioning herself to move from in front of the cameras to being behind them. I do not know if I am to happy about that but I can still celebrate her accomplishments. Go Angelina Jolie with your chamomile face and all!
Unbroken was adapted from Seabiscuit: An American Legend. Enjoy these press photos from the film. Unbroken is scheduled to hit theaters on December 25th. Remember, no one can choose who your heroes are. You just have to be brave enough to have them.
Are you more of a War Movies Fan than you are a Martial Arts one and why?
Tag you're it!
