Abornewords Health: Romaine Chicken Gizzard Salad & Soup (Healthy & Economical)
We hear a lot of information about living a healthy lifestyle but what it actually means to each of us as individuals may be very different, depending on what food we like or those we consider to be healthy. Still, we need to have a point of focus, a starting point. Next, we must implement our plans of actions so that we can actually live healthier and happier lives. Though we all may have different approaches, usually diet and exercise are ideal starting points for healthier lifestyles.
What you need
- 1/2 lb. Chicken Gizzards
- 7 stalks of Romaine Lettuce
- 1 large tomato
- 3 radishes
- 1/2 bunch spinach leaves
- 2 tablespoons of fresh ginger
- 3 stalks of green onions
- 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
- 2 capsules of vinegar
- 2 1/2 cups of water
- 1/2 stick of margarine
- Badia Complete Seasoning
- Black Pepper
- Rotisserie Seasoning
Preparation Instructions
- Chop and Season Chicken Gizzards using black pepper and Badia Complete Seasoning and Rotisserie Seasoning, add 1 cap of vinegar and marinate overnight or for 1he on the day of preparation
- Cut tomatoes into slices or cubes and set aside
- Add Romaine Lettue and Spinach Leaves to a medium to large size container and place in refrigerator until other ingredients are ready
- Slice radishes, green onions and ginger then set aside until Chicken Gizzards are done
- In a large skillet heat margarine to a sizzle
- Add in seasoned chicken gizzards and fry until they are golden brown or until margarine evaporates
- Add 2 1/2 cups of water and bring to a broil
- Cook for 45minutes to an hour or until tender
- Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes then remove from heat source then let them stand for ten minutes while you add tomatoes, radishes in with Romaine and Spinach
- Add Chicken Gizzards on top and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of fresh ginger
- Use broth in skillet for soup mixture, sprinkle with green onions
Dressing
- 1 cap full of vinegar
- 2 tablespoons of broth ( taken from soup bowl)
- 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
- Add 1 tablespoon of ginger to soup
