Pilates is something that I got into after finding some Gaiam VHS Tapes up for sale at a local Thrift Shop and since I had a 19" TV with a VHS Tape Deck, I decided this was a deal I could not pass up. Since I had the tapes and was also looking for ways to workout at home, I put one into the tape deck and it was on from there. I had did some research prior and knew that pilates could strengthen my core and also that it had been used by Soilders as a healing process. Jessica Smith has a 30 minute workout on You Tube that I did once so far.

I highly recommend this one. The warm up is great and the exercises on this video are not just for beginners so if you are like me, you will perfect your skill in doing them over time and your body will feel a whole lot stronger. I remember when I finally got through a who routine from those Gaiam Tapes, I started feeling stronger and taller because doing pilates will elongate your body. Breathing appropriately through each exercise is very important.

My first indication that my body was being sculpted and changing form was when I sit in a chair at my Son's High School during an event. My body could not slump or slouch and I was what I describe as perfectly aligned, upright, straight and perfectly poised. I completed about 20 minutes of the video shown above in my room. I had limited floor space so when I do it again, I will have to move into the living area so that I can really work at perfecting the more difficult moves. I was about 20 minutes in and through the floor leg exercises before I had to start modifying my positions and movements. The fitness band(s) will help you to use your natural body strength, creating resistance. Get your fitness bands here and the wrist weights too. Using wrist weights will help you to create even more resistance and build upper body strength and will also give you a alternative way to change up your workout routine. Pilates will help to sculpt your body and strengthen your core. Pilates is a workout that can help you to change things up so that your routine continues to be effective, even with the simplest poses.  Find out more about Pilates and how it can benefit your body on the Fitbit Blog. Remember, individual results will vary and consulting with your PCP (Primary Care Physician) before beginning any fitness regimen is always the right move. That's all. Kudos.....
