Film Title: Big Game
No matter how we see Samuel L. Jackson come to life on screen, he never disappoints. In Big Game, the Acting Veteran is our Black President! A plane zips through the skyline, above the clouds and suddenly the scene changes from a calm look into the newspaper to a plunging plane and a fiery crash and flames blazing in the forest.
To my surprise, the President is not dead and he encounter a young boy archer who does not recognize him as President of The United States. The young boy call the busy forest home and is on a quest to prove his maturity.
The plot thickens amid some bad guys who are likely the culprits behind the plane crash and the young boy suddenly realizes the imminent situation they are both in. Suddenly everything is clear; he knows what he has to do, so he attempts to save the President and himself.
Big Game is a visual look into the feelings surrounding our own President Obama who will soon be a "lame duck" and eventually replace by a new face. The fact that Obama will be leaving his long tenure as President soon, is something that sort of fills the air with an awful kind of gloom, especially for African Americans. Let's just hope that this movie gives us something to smile about, in the end. The movie was shown at the Toronto International Film Festival in September and will premiere in Finland on March 25th.
Does this movie make you think about President Obama's departure from office or terrorism?
